Grades Pre K - 8A Self-Guided TourJanuary 15, 2011 - December 2011Bring your camera to take photos of students in astronaut costumes as they pretend to fly into space! Students can sit in an authentic Shuttlecraft cockpit that was actually used by astronauts in training. They can check their blood pressure, heart rate, and diet in the astronaut training center. The Science Shuttle Laboratory provides six different interactive lessons about space and earth. The Solar System in highlighted with models and the latest information about our place in space. Glove boxes, lightening displays and plasma balls are students' favorites. Students can also match raw samples of elements in the Periodic Table of Elements area and gain a better understanding of atoms, molecules, liquids, solids, and gases. Our search and find activity sheets are designed for different grade levels and aligned to the California Science Framework Standards.
Science Encounter! tours are each one-hour in length. Fees: $90 for 20 or fewer students, $130 for 21-40, $160 for 41-60. Call 916-485-8836 to schedule a field trip. |
