Knitters, Crocheters, and other Fiber Artists! You are invited to show your creativity! As part of our “Fiber Arts & Science Festival,” and in recognition of International Knit in Public Day and International Yarn Bombing Day, the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center invites you to participate in Sacramento’s first Yarn Bombing public installation and exhibit! When: June 9 & 10, 2012 Where: Discovery Museum Science & Space Center 3615 Auburn Boulevard, Sacramento 95821 How to participate: 1. Adopt a tree, bench, post, fence, rock, or other object on the Museum grounds for a suggested donation of $25 per object. · Select your object in person at the Museum, or we can help you pick one over the phone or by email. You need JavaScript enabled to view it ) · You may enter as an individual or a group. · You can select your object at any time, starting now! · Create a yarn bombing/graffiti installation for your chosen object. · Let us know the title of your creation and – if you choose one -- the name of your “knitta” persona or group name. · Install your creation either on Friday, June 8, or before 10am on June 9. · You are welcome to set up your lawn chairs and knit in public on the Museum grounds both days. · The installations will remain on public view for 2 weekends. Artists may claim and remove installations between 4:30-5pm on Sunday, June 17, or before 4:30 on Monday, June 18. 2. Volunteer !
