ExhibitsLooking to brighten up these foggy Sacramento days? Take your camera and kids to the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center!
January - August, 2012 Dinosaurs, rocks, fossils, and crystals are featured in a geology exhibit at the Discovery Museum. Students learn about the three basic kinds of rocks and how they are made. Rock specimens of all kinds are large and hands-on. Amazing crystals are displayed. Special interest areas include: volcanoes, magnetism, fluorescence, rocks under magnification, scales and balances to weigh rocks. Mary Anning and Roy Chapman Andrews, two prominent paleontologists from the past, are highlighted with costumes and artifacts. Don’t miss the many interactive dinosaur displays! The younger set is invited to visit the Dinosaur Train where they can dress as dinos and sit in a dino nest. Search and find guides, aligned to State science standards, are available for different grad levels. |
