Family craft time!
The Discovery Museum Science & Space Center offers make-and-take crafts every Saturday and Sunday. While the activities are designed for children 12 years old and under, the whole family can enjoy spending time together.
Visit the classroom from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. to see what you can create!
Star shows!
Learn about the local night sky in Northern California’s only public planetarium. The 20-minute star shows introduce you to our celestial neighborhood. All shows feature heavenly bodies locally visible to the eye and include current celestial events.
All year: Saturday and Sunday at
1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
July and August: additional show at 3 p.m. Monday–Friday
Please, no children younger than 4 years old.
Wildlife shows!
Come and visit live animals in the Nature Discovery Hall. Birds, mammals, reptiles, and insects are waiting to help you learn about their fascinating lives and habitats.
All year: Saturday and Sunday at noon and 2 p.m.
July and August: additional show at 2 p.m. Monday–Friday
Nature!
Fourteen beautiful woodland acres surround the Museum. Once you pick up a guide sheet, explore the local flora and fauna throughout the expansive grounds. Inviting benches and wide pathways make for an enjoyable outing. There are also shaded picnic areas if you wish to bring a meal. Cold beverages are available in the Museum store.
