Gee Whiz Geology: An Exhibit About Rocks, Fossils and Dinosaurs

July 17th & 18th
Did you know that many astronauts and space geologists started their careers as young rock collectors? Learn some geology basics this weekend at the Discovery Museum Science & Space Center. Each guest 12 and under constructs a take-home rock collection starter kit of four basic rock types. Special presentations about rocks are given between 12:30 p.m. and 3:30 p.m. It’ll be a rockin’ good time for everyone!

are here waiting to help you learn about their
fascinating lives and habitats.

Visit the Planetarium!
Learn about the local night sky in Northern California’s
only public planetarium. Twenty-minute star shows introduce
you to our celestial neighborhood.*All year: Saturday and Sunday at 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.
July and Aug.: Monday–Friday at 3 p.m.
*Please, no children younger than 4 years old.
Family craft fun
The Discovery Museum Science & Space Center offers make-and-take crafts for children 12 years old and under every Saturday and Sunday. These crafts are suitable for the entire family to create together.All year: Saturday and Sunday from 12:30 p.m. to 3 p.m.
