Peanut is a Lionhead Rabbit that the museum adopted in 2010 from the Sacramento SPCA. She has a mane of wool encircling her head, much like an African Lion.
Bella, our Giant Flemish Rabbit, is one of the most popular animals in the Nature Discovery Room. She weighs in around 12lbs. and is one of the largest breeds of rabbits in the world.
JR, the North American Porcupine, is a native species to California. He has lived at the museum since 1991 and always astonishes folks with his 30,000 quills. JR died on March 6, 2013. To read more about his extraordinary life at the Discovery Museum click here.
